The Charles J. Bareis Award is given for outstanding accomplishments and achievements in North American Archaeology. Priority is given to students working on questions, materials, and sites that relate to the archaeology of Illinois. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply for the award, although priority will be given to supporting undergraduate research and career development. Applications must include a resume and a 1-2 page description of the significance of the research for the student’s intellectual development and our understanding of North American and/or Illinois archaeology.
