“Chocolate Woman Dreams the Milky Way:” One woman’s story of how she saves her own life by returning to her ancestral land and connecting to powerful female forces within Kuna cosmology, such as Chocolate Woman.
Our own Prof. Brenda Farnell has served as a consultant for an exciting play production that recently opened in Toronto. Her official title in the production is “Kinetographer.” The poster explains the basic story of the production, which explores traditional Kuna cultural practices from Panama:
“Taking the narrative structure of Kuna mola (textile) art and the literary structures of the pictographic writing that notate Kuna healing chants, this play, embodies a journey of healing and reclamation.”
